Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Igbo warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has declared that nobody can destroy Ndigbo.
She said despite alleged machinations and gang up against people of the tribe, they cannot be exterminated in Nigeria.
While describing Ndigbo as resourceful, diligent and resolute people, Bianca stressed that there is nothing they cannot achieve if they remain united.
Bianca stated this in her New Year message, made available to reporters in Enugu, on Thursday.
She continued,
“We affirm that Igbo are a nation of resourceful and determined people. Our optimism is boundless. Our dynamism and tenacity is proven to the world. We are indestructible.
“The Almighty God has proven this fact to our enemies and our oppressors throughout history. There isnothing we cannot achieve if we put our minds to it, but, unity of purpose and a higher commitment to the common good are imperative, if we are to succeed.
“We continue to pray for Ndigbo and the country, whilst calling on our leaders to humble themselves under God’s mighty hand, so that in His unfailing love, He will lead us through the unrelenting crises in which this nation finds itself.”
Mrs Ojukwu, who contested for the senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Anambra South District, also berated the leadership of the party, accusing them of plundering the political patrimony.
“2018 was the year of the rampaging locusts, which invaded our political habitat and plundered our political patrimony,” she added.
“2019 provides a grand opportunity for us to reaffirm our historical mission, comply with our own ideologies and reinforce the unity that has sustained usthrough years of fracture, factions, litigation, triumphs and turmoil.
“2019 must be APGA’s year of redemption. It is said that sovereignty or leadership without justice remains nothing other than organised robbery.
“The present national chairman of APGA, who wreaked such unprecedented havoc upon our beloved party, must refund and resign for the healing process within our party to begin.”
Bianca thanked “the hardworking people of Anambra South, who were regrettably denied the opportunity of a new dynamism in representation at the red chambers.”

Festus Keyamo (SAN), spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential Campaign Council, has said that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not a threat in the 2019 elections.
Keyamo insisted that the PDP can never constitute a threat to the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari because their efforts are collapsing.
He made the claim yesterday, January 3rd during the inauguration of the Women and Youths Wing of the APC Presidential Campaign Team in Abuja. He, however, called on APC supporters to intensify efforts towards ensuring that the party records massive victory at the polls.
“They are no longer a threat to President Muhammadu Buhari because their effort is collapsing. They have more than four hundred groups but the groups are now dropping on weekly basis.
“It clearly shows that they cannot function without public funds and they discovered that it is no longer business as usual,” NAN quoted him as saying.

Festus Keyamo, (SAN) who is the spokesperson of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, has reacted to the appointment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s supposed niece, Amina Zakari as head of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre for the general election.
It was reported that by her new appointment, Zakari, who was once the Commission’s Director of Operations, will be responsible for announcing the result of the presidential election.
Her appointment has since stirred reactions from Nigerians and the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
But in reaction, Keyamo, in a sarcastic statement on his official Twitter page, claimed that Amina Zakari is sister to Jubril of Sudan.
He added that she is not related to Buhari as she is from Jigawa State
Keyamo tweeted, “Mrs. Amina Zakari of INEC is a lady from a town in Sudan & is related to Jibrin Al Sudan who is the body-double of PMB. She arrived on the same flight with Jibrin Al Sudan and was smuggled to INEC the next day.
“Or, how else can we connect a woman from Jigawa to a man from Sudan?”

Prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has advised the lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye to surrender to the Nigerian Police Force.
The lawyer called on the Senator to end the siege by submitting himself for arrest without any further delay.
Falana also cautioned the police operatives to conduct Melaye’s arrest, investigation and prosecution in strict compliance with the relevant provisions of the penal statutes and the Constitution.
In a statement released yesterday, January 3rd, the human right lawyer flayed the Police for the sensationalization of the planned arrest of the Senator.
Falana said,
“The fundamental right of every citizen to personal liberty is guaranteed by section 35 of the Constitution of Nigeria and article 6 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights.
“The right may however be violated by the State if there is reasonable suspicion that any citizen has committed a criminal offence.
“The Nigeria Police Force recently announced its plan to arrest Senator Dino on the allegation that he has committed the offences of criminal conspiracy and attempted culpable homicide.
“The Senator did not respond to the invitation of the Police on the grounds that the permission of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki was not sought and obtained.
“Convinced that the Senator has decided not to submit himself for investigation, a team of police personnel have surrounded his residence with a view to effecting his arrest.
“The siege to the house by the Police has needlessly lasted for 6 days. It has been reported that the supply of electricity and water to the house has been disconnected by the Police.
“Such action cannot be justified in law. There is no doubt that the Nigeria Police Force has itself to blame for the sensational planned arrest of the Senator.
”The Police ought to have affected the arrest of the Senator under the relevant provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 which empower the Police and other law enforcement to break into any house to arrest if there is evidence that any criminal suspect against whom a warrant of arrest has been issued by any court has absconded or is concealing himself or herself so that the warrant cannot be executed.”

Peter Obi, the Vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday, January 3 said his two graduate children did not own cars.
He said the children must make money by themselves to buy their own cars and not relying on him.
Obi, who spoke to his kinsmen in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State during a lecture organised in his honour by Agulu Peoples Assembly, said Nigeria was a place where people crave free money to live in luxury.
Obi said he had trained his children to be self-reliant, adding that he had chosen not to join people who crave primitive acquisition. He said,
“I have two graduates who are working, a boy and a girl, and the two of them don’t own any car because they haven’t made enough money to buy a car.
“They were here for the Christmas, and I was talking to some people about them and the person said he saw my son and that he always jumps on buses and tricycles.
“Some people don’t like it that way. They believe I am rich and that my children should not be trekking, and that they should be provided cars.
“But I believe they do not have the money; so, they have to trek.
“Who will give them cars — is it me? My money is my own; so, they should work for theirs.”
He said he was not contesting the VP position to make money, but to build a better Nigeria. He described Nigeria as “a collapsing country” that needed to be salvaged by voting for the right crop of leaders who have been tested and proved.
“I have been five years out of government, and no one has come to say any one naira was missing in government under my watch. EFCC can come and probe me if they like, I am not afraid. I am not here to campaign to my people because I come from here and you know what I did in Anambra. Just give me the opportunity and we will change Nigeria, and the country will start working again.”
