11 Rights Every Nigerian Should Know About from lawpadi

Every Nigerian has rights, duties, liabilities and privileges, which are provided for in the hundreds of laws that exist in Nigeria. However, there are certain rights that basically trump all other ones. They are rights that are referred to as inalienable rights, rights for which the law has made specific and special provision. These rights are contained in Chapter IV of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and are officially known as Fundamental Rights. This article will explain what these key rights are, because every Nigerian really should know about these rights. 1. Right to Life This is the most important right of every Nigerian (and in fact every human being). The right that everyone has to ‘exist’, and no one can intentionally deprive a person of this right, either an individual or the Government, unless in the execution of a sentence of the court in respect of a criminal offence. In a nutshell, what this right says is that no one can tak...

TYRANNY

From the brook of hegemony, My heart is dazzled on what could make a life in this tyrannical context. Tyranny? Oh this has eaten deep in our hood. In our honoured attires they're ushered to the state house. All thought with the purity of heart they've come To flush the stains making us stagnant Yet blindfolded to making us lamb for their kinsmen. Peacefully our agitations were spelt. In return stray in display and clean the shit. Justitia, oh! Justitia. Where have you been? Why allowing your veil open, Scales and sword dropped? Your priests are sabotages of your prowess. While the culprits in their jets cruz on the streets. No honour to the dead. Those alive are half dead Who's here to save us? Neither Amotekun nor Sunday Igboho could. All of them are of the same clan. Even the human right activists are not humane. A brown envelope is enough to shut the mouth. Dear creator. In you we put our trust The voice of the voiceless needs you Else your beloved would cry like Abel. h...

Alexey Alexeevich Abrikosov born June 25, 1928, Moscow, U.S.S.R. [now Russia]

Is a Russian physicist, who won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2003 for his pioneering contribution to the theory of superconductivity . He shared the award with Vitaly L. Ginzburg of Russia and Anthony J. Leggett of Great Britain. Abrikosov received doctorates in physics from the Institute for Physical Problems (now the P.L. Kapitsa Institute) in Moscow in 1951 and 1955. In the following decades he worked at scientific institutions and universities in the U.S.S.R. In 1991 he joined Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois and became a distinguished scientist in its materials science division. Abrikosov's prizewinning work focused on superconductivity , the disappearance of electrical resistance in various solids when they are cooled below a certain critical (and typically very low) temperature. The phenomenon was first identified in 1911, and in the following decades scientists explained why certain metals, termed type I superconductors, lose electrical resistance. However, ...
